| Northeast Power is a transmission cooperative comprised of eight Member-Distribution Cooperatives with five located in northeast Missouri and three in southeast Iowa. Our corporate office is located in Palmyra, Missouri, with a satellite office located in Steuben, Iowa. Northeast Power currently has fifty-six employees. Northeast Power operates as part of a three-tier cooperative system. The top tier is made up of the Member-Distribution cooperatives. This tier provides electricity directly to the consumers. The second tier is made up of regional cooperatives. This tier transmits the electricity from the generators to the Member-Distribution cooperatives. The third tier is Associated Electric Cooperative, Inc. This tier is responsible for generation and power procurement. |
